A testament to the entrepreneurial spirit. The whole family was hard at work bringing amazing barbecue to our table. The pulled pork sandwich was amazing; as were the special sauces presented to us during the meal. Truly a blessed place to have a bite and enjoy the hard work of others. PS. Have the pig pile with the horseradish sauce. You’ll thank yourself

The food far exceeded our expectations. It's some of the best barbecue I've had in Colorado Springs. It's some of the best barbecue I've had in Colorado. The portions are great, they had really nice desserts! Staff is super friendly. The manager stopped by to chat and she was a delight. I will be back! Apparently they have some kind of awards program as well. And their prices are more than fair. We ordered a brisket. I think it was called a grenade. It had a deep fried potato. It was so ridiculously good and creative! It had a very interesting look that entertained me. They have about six or eight different sauces that are very creative and delicious. Side note: This restaurant is gluten-free, celiac safe. Gluten-free desserts gluten-free buns gluten-free crackers, gluten free macaroni and cheese. All the sauces are gluten free. In a country that doesn't take food safety seriously, this restaurant does!

It's so refreshing to be able go to a restaurant and not have to worry about asking for a gluten free menu or worry about cross contamination. Everything I've tried has been absolutely delicious, I'm so thrilled to have porkbutt so close to home! The vibes are spectacular, and I also love that they offer prepped meals and goods from local bakeries!!

Visiting from the UK. Wanted to find a proper bbq smokehouse and that is what we found! Delicious food. Brisket was so tender and flavoursome - best we have ever tried. Good variety of sides - would recommend the fried sprouts. Condiment selection which was all homemade was exceptional. The owner and his staff were super attentive and really cared about our experience. Highly recommend.

Porkbutt Barbecue was a food truck that evolved into a brick and mortar location on North Academy Boulevard. I thought I had reviewed them before, but that review seems to be lost so I'll do another write up. I'm going to cut right to the chase here: There are not a lot of good restaurants in Colorado Springs. I sometimes feel like this town has low standards. In this landscape, Porkbutt stands out for being an absolutely EXCELLENT food experience. This is not just the only good barbecue in the Springs, it is absolutely one of the best restaurants we have. I came to know this place because my wife has a gluten allergy, and Porkbutt is very accommodating to gluten-free dining, as many other reviewers have mentioned. I myself do not have a gluten allergy, so I can eat smoked meat anywhere. And I do smoke in my own back yard. But I come here because it's the best. GOOD: Almost every meat item on the menu is excellent. Star of the show is the brisket; it's tender, moist, and just a bit fatty. (Some reviewers don't like this, as they may be accustomed to lean, overcooked brisket that is all too common around here. In my opinion folks that feel that way should eat elsewhere.) The pork is also quite delicious. I'm still working my way through the sandwiches. I really want to try the smoked burger. Of special note are the refrigerated deserts. The vegan banana pudding is absolutely outstanding. You won't miss the milk if you eat it. (I don't have a dairy allergy, but I'm better off without it.) I appreciate the different barbecue sauces you can choose with your meal. And the sodas are nice. The service here is also very, very friendly. Josh is an excellent proprietor. Always patient and friendly with customers. We feel well taken care of even when things get busy. MEH: Very few things to dislike here. The sausage I tried one time was served cut up and cold. They also run out of deserts that I like, but I admit Porkbutt can't be blamed for being so popular. I wish the dining room was a bit bigger, but again they can hardly be dinged for their success. Arrive early if you don't want to have to wrestle hungry families for a table. There's probably so much more to say about this wonderful place. Porkbutt is one of only about ten restaurants in the Springs that I really like, and I hope they thrive.

I stopped in here one day as the mailman and delivered mail on a very cold day, they offered me their meaty beans and I ate it and thought that’s really good chili. So tonight I stopped in and had the brisket, which was amazing 5/5. I ordered the bbq turkey was also very very good 5/5. I had the sausage which I’m not a sausage person but wow it was good too 5/5. Had a round of sauces and they were all very good and different tastes for each one, only complimenting the meat, I could still taste the meat under the sauce 5/5. My sides were coleslaw which was good cuz I’m no fan of dry slaw 5/5. I also couldn’t forget the meaty beans that I originally thought was brisket chili for some odd reason 5/5. Customer service was excellent, Alise not a rental, I hope I spelled her name right, my last name been butchered my whole life. She was amazing and made sure we were totally satisfied 5/5. The dining room was nice and comfy but we ordered our food to go as we didn’t plan on dining in 5/5. It was a very clean and pleasant experience and would refer anyone I can for great bbq.

I have no idea what they are doing with hose smashed potatoes but they are heaven. They were out of a lot of menu items but after having tasted what they did have, I can see why. The smoked turkey was fire with that white Alabama sauce. The amount, taste and quality of the fried Brussels sprouts was on point! A little something for everyone. Pulled pork? Yes please. Joshua personally attended to us. The tea and lemonade were good too. Thank you for being open on Father’s Day.

We have frequented Porkbutt BBQ often. The food is absolutely divine! My daughter loves the pulled pork sandwich and I haven’t found an item I haven’t liked. Their GF buns are the best ever, so soft and yummy! The perfect compliment to whatever sandwich or meat you choose is one of their addictive sides, I highly recommend the Brisket Mac. Their desserts are unique and so tasty! You can tell the owners pour love and hard-work into every order. Award winning!!!
